What is it?
Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States and occurs when hair follicles become clogged with dead skin cells and oil.
Who Gets Acne?
Most people that have acne are teenagers or young adults, but acne can occur at any age.
What Causes Acne?
Our skin makes a lot of sebum, oil that keeps our skin moist. This sebum along with dead skin cells can clog the pores which can then become inflamed when normal skin bacteria are present. This is what leads to the characteristic nodules and cysts of acne.
How to treat acne?
We target all causes of acne, providing hormonal blockage, antibacterial treatment and exfoliation in a safe way. Once your Acne is controlled we also treat the scar and pigmentation caused by this condition. We will use topical and/or oral antibiotics, topical retinoic acid, medication to reduce hormonal effects, peels and micro-needling, and Platelet-rich Plasma.
When to expect results?
You will notice improvement on you lesions after 6 weeks and best results are reached after 4 months of treatment. At-home treatment requires 4-8 weeks to see improvement. Once acne clears, you must continue to treat the skin to prevent breakouts.*
